Porr: Austrian construction group Porr achieved an order backlog of Euro 7,100 mn, which was 11.5% higher than the previous year. A selective approach to acquisitions led to a solid order intake of Euro 6,326 mn (previous year: Euro 6,301m). Production output climbed to a record of Euro 5,593m, displaying growth of 18.0%, which not only outperformed the European construction industry average but was generated on every home market. Earnings before taxes stood at Euro 88.1 mn, 3.3% above the level of the previous year (Euro 85.3 mn). The 2018 profit for the year amounted to Euro 66.2 mn. Earnings per share stood at Euro 2.17, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. For 2019 the clear strategic focus will remain on operational excellence. The Executive Board is optimistic about achieving a moderate increase in the 2019 business year through intelligent growth, adding to the high level of output of Euro 5,593 mn.

Strabag: The publicly listed construction group Strabag SE posted several records in 2018 again: Not only did the output volume and the order backlog reach their highest level in company history, but the earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) and the net income after minorities did as well. The Strabag SE Group generated another record output volume of Euro 16.3 bn in the 2018 financial year, which was even higher than expected due to weather conditions. This represents an increase of 12 % over the previous year. The consolidated group amounted to Euro 15.2 bn. This corresponds to a plus of 13 % – similar to the output volume. The EBIT increased by 25 % to Euro 558.21 mn, which corresponds to an EBIT margin of 3.7 % after 3.3 % in 2017. The net income after minorities for 2018 stood at Euro 353.53 mn (+27%). Strabag SE continues to expect an output volume of about Euro 16.0 bn (-2 %) in 2019 and confirms the goal to again achieving an EBIT margin of at least 3.3 %.

A1 Telekom Austria: A1 Telekom Austria, controlled by Mexico’s America Movil and the Austrian state, reported a 1.5 percent increase in its first-quarter sales to Euro 1,089.5 mn Euro. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), adjusted for restructuring costs, came in at 395 mn euros after 388 mn euros in the same period in the previous year. CEO Thomas Arnoldner: "With the 5G frequency auction in Austria, where we bought the best frequency package with the largest spectrum available, and the supplier decision for Nokia, we gave the go-ahead for 5G in Austria. The upgrade of the mobile stations has already started and we are now working on the best 5G network for Austria, with the aim of making Austria the business location of the future."
