Retail: In the first half of 2019, the turnover of Austrian retail enterprises increased by 1.6% in nominal terms and by 0.4% in real terms compared to the corresponding period in 2018, according to Statistics Austria's preliminary data. The first half of 2019 had 149 trading days, the same number of days as the reference period of the previous year. The result for June 2019 shows a decrease of turnover in retail trade by 2.7% compared to June 2018. Taking inflation into account, sales decreased by 3.4%.
