21st Austria weekly - Strabag, Austrian Post, Vienna Airport (12/03/2019)

17.03.2019

Strabag: Austrian based construction group Strabag has been awarded the contract for the transportation infrastructures and civil engineering works for the Boll-Sinneringen rail bypass in the Bernese municipality of Vechingen. The project foresees changing the route of the railway by moving it to the south. Further, Strabag Group’s Züblin International GmbH Chile SpA has been awarded two new long-term mining contracts in Nuevo Nivel Mina, at the Teniente Mine in Rancagua. These contracts have a total value of about Euro 500 mn and comprise the construction of tunnels with a total length of 32.5 km.
Strabag: weekly performance: -5.25%

Austrian Post: Austrian Post and Deutsche Post DHL Group have agreed upon a long-term partnership. The collaboration of the two companies is still subject to a review by the German Federal Cartel Office and the Austrian Federal Competition Authority. Provided that a positive decision is handed down, the partnership should begin in the course of 2019. It stipulates the delivery of parcels in Austria by Austrian Post. Furthermore, it is planned that Austrian Post will take over the affected Deutsche Post DHL Group employees and a majority of its logistics facilities in Austria. Based on the 108 million parcels transported by Austrian Post in 2018, the medium-term objective of Austrian Post is to increase parcel volumes to 150 million items by 2022. This cooperation agreement comprises an important step towards achieving this target earlier than envisaged. The stable outlook of Austrian Post with regard to its operating earnings in the 2019 financial year remain unchanged against the backdrop of rising parcel volumes but increasing investment and integration costs.
Österreichische Post: weekly performance: 5.30%

Vienna Airport: In February 2019, the total number of passengers handled by the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose by 20.9% to 2.3 million travellers. Vienna Airport reported a substantial increase in passenger volume of 25.6%.
Flughafen Wien: weekly performance: 1.93%
