21st Austria weekly - Andritz, FACC, Agrana, AT&S (11/07/2019)

Andritz: International technology group Andritz has received an order from Russia’s Ilim Group to supply a new recovery boiler to its Ust-Ilimsk mill in Russia. The Andritz HERB recovery boiler will have a black liquor combustion capacity of 1,950 tds/d, with start-up planned in the second half of 2021. The order is part of the one billion US dollar “Big Ust-Ilimsk Project” that targets increasing pulp output at the mill by 130,000 tons per year and a finished product capacity increase from 550,000 to 1.5 million tons per year. In recent years, Andritz has received three major recovery boiler upgrade orders from the Ilim Group.
Andritz: weekly performance: -5.89%

FACC: Austrian aerospace supplier FACC started 2019 with a slight increase in revenues, but a decline in profits. Compared to the previous year, Group revenues increased moderately by 2.2 % to EUR 193.7 million in the first quarter. However, reported earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 7.4 million and were thus, as expected and already communicated, below the level of the first quarter of the previous year. "FACC developed in line with the market in the first three months of the financial year," said FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger. "After years of strong growth, we see a global flattening of the growth curve, accompanied by a temporary stabilization of production rates".
FACC: weekly performance: -11.93%

Agrana: As expected, the first quarter of the 2019|20 financial year of Agrana, the fruit, starch and sugar company, was marked by a continued negative earnings result in the Sugar segment. In the first quarter of the prior year, the Sugar segment had still earned a slight profit. Revenue increased by 1.3 % to Euro 638.4 mn, the operating profit (EBIT) declined by 16.5 % to Euro 30.9 mn. Agrana Chief Executive Officer Johann Marihart explains: “Although the slightly lower EU sugar production volumes after the 2018 beet processing campaign, together with a reduced planting area in 2019, have led to the first slight pick-up in sugar prices, the Sugar segment’s EBIT result even under these circumstances is still negative. On the other hand, the fruit juice concentrate business and the Starch segment performed well, which in the case of the Starch segment was thanks to higher ethanol prices than in the prior year. Due to raw-material-related one-time costs in the fruit preparations business, however, EBIT for the Fruit segment overall was below that of the year-earlier quarter. For the full financial year, for the Group as a whole, we continue to expect a significant increase in EBIT.”
Agrana: weekly performance: -7.69%

AT&S: AT&S, manufacturer of high-end printed circuit boards, continues to expand its business with IC substrates as a strategic pillar. Due to rising market demand for high-performance computing, the company intends to build a new plant at the location in Chongqing and to expand the existing capacities at the Leoben plant. To this end, an investment volume totalling nearly one billion Euro with a focus on Chongqing is planned for the next five years. These investment projects are also based on close cooperation with a leading producer of semiconductors. The required performance of future high-performance computing modules massively drives the technological demands on all components of the modules including IC substrates. The business with IC substrates is becoming a strategically important business mainstay for AT&S in addition to high-end printed circuit boards. The new, state-of-the-art factory is intended to be built at the existing location in Chongqing. Construction work begins immediately and the start of production is planned for the end of 2021.
AT&S: weekly performance: -5.82%
