21st Austria weekly - Verbund, Marinomed, Andritz, Pierer Mobility (25/03/2021)

Verbund: Austrian utility group Verbund has achieved another milestone in its sustainable finance track record, with its newly launched Green and Sustainability-linked Bond (the "Bond"). The 20-year, senior unsecured Bond was met with high market demand and was placed within the international and national institutional investor base. The Euro 500m bond was oversubscribed several times. Investors with a focus on sustainability were given much preferential treatment in the allocation process and represented more than 90% of the final order book. The strong demand from green investors allowed setting the coupon at 0.90%.

Marinomed: Marinomed Biotech AG, an Austrian science-based biotech company with globally marketed therapeutics derived from innovative proprietary technology platforms, announced today that the first patient has been treated in a clinical trial evaluating Inhaleen, a Carragelose-based inhalation solution, in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. The study will evaluate safety and efficacy of inhaled Carragelose for the treatment of moderate COVID-19, i. e. patients with respiratory COVID-19 symptoms who require hospitalization but not intensive care. “With this trial of inhaled Carragelose, we hope to show that Inhaleen can be an effective treatment for recently hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Additionally, we intend to show that Inhaleen can aid faster recovery and prevent the disease from further damaging a patients’ lungs or progressing to more severe stages,” says CSO Eva Prieschl-Grassauer.

Andritz: International technology Group Andritz has received an order to supply four new needlepunch lines for nonwoven production from Chongqing Double Elephant Microfiber Material, China. These lines are scheduled for installation and start-up in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Pierer Mobility: Pierer Mobility AG, Europe's leading manufacturer of powered two-wheeler vehicles, and Bajaj Auto Limited, India's second largest motorcycle manufacturer, are strengthening their strategic cooperation in the development of electric products in the two-wheeler sector to meet the growing demand for innovative e-mobility concepts. The strategy will centre on the development of common electric platforms to deliver the advantage of scale, regarding all critical components, allowing both companies to quickly and effectively adapt to evolving customer needs globally. Part of this remit involves an open approach to all battery opportunities, aiding the parallel advantage of both fixed and swappable solutions. Moving at pace, the initial output from this manufacturing impetus will see the first of these shared platform vehicles beginning of 2022.
