The general renovation of the concrete roadway will involve the application of a new concrete surface covering 310,000 m² and the construction of a 350,000 m² cement-stabilized base course. In the asphalt layer, which serves as a protective layer between the base course and the concrete surface, the construction company is using 40,000 tons of asphalt with a recycled content of 70 percent instead of the usual 20 percent. This year, the work will take place in the direction of Graz, followed by the direction of Vienna.
