21st Austria weekly - RBI (24/07/2026)

26.07.2026

RBI: A Russian court has issued an anti-suit injunction prohibiting STRABAG SE, STRABAG SE's Austrian core shareholders, Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) and its Russian subsidiary AO Raiffeisenbank from taking legal action in connection with certain Rasperia-related proceedings against Rasperia Trading Limited (Rasperia) in courts or arbitration tribunals outside of Russia. Under the terms of this anti-suit injunction, however, RBI and AO Raiffeisenbank may initiate legal proceedings against Rasperia in Austria for damages of up to EUR 2.85 billion without triggering a judicial penalty. In light of this verdict, the threat against RBI when filing a claim against Rasperia in Austria has been substantially reduced. Consequently, RBI intends to initiate legal proceedings for c. EUR 3.15 billion against Rasperia in Austria. A positive outcome of the Austrian proceedings is considered by RBI’s Management Board to be highly likely, and the proceeds of the enforcement against the above-mentioned assets are expected to be received in 6 to 12 months. The legal proceedings and ensuing measures may result in costs and expenses of up to approx. EUR 150 million in 2026 for the RBI Group excluding Russia.
RBI: weekly performance: 6.31%
