Austrian Post: Austrian Post, EVN, and Netz Niederösterreich are conducting the first-ever bidirectional charging of electric vehicles (Vehicle-to-Grid, V2G) in Mautern an der Donau. In the test, five Maxus electric vehicles are not only being charged at ZAPe wallboxes at PEET GmbH, but can also feed electricity into the public grid. Combined with the photovoltaic system on the roof of the post office base in Mautern, the electricity generated during the day is stored in the vehicles' batteries while they are parked – for example, in the afternoon or on weekends – and then fed back into the grid later. The post office's electric vehicles thus act as a large, integrated energy storage system, as Austrian Post explains.
